Contests
To fuel healthy competition that yields greatness in products and people, MyCoders
sponsors ongoing contests, then rewards contest winners with prizes and public recognition.
Projects
Why do we rank projects?
The quest to identify and certify Projects is a MyCoders' exclusive.
Here, as leading buyers bring ever-more complex and creative projects to the
table, the world's most talented coders rise to the occasion and deliver
cutting-edge precision in programming and development. These boundary-breaking
projects deserve recognition. We understand that spotlighting such projects
serves to give the associated buyers and coders the attention and credit they
have earned, but focusing on leading projects does another important thing and
that is to spark even greater ideas and ingenuity and to challenge coders and
buyers to reach beyond the current horizon to the next level of excellence.
What contests are there for projects?
Projects are continually evaluated, ranked, and tabulated to identify the
leaders, those that are best overall and also the leading projects in various
categories. Every month a different project is identified as being the top
project completed that month and is awarded the title of Project of the Month.
Additionally, each month, MyCoders identifies the top projects in two other
categories. That is, top projects are identified based on the industry that
project serves (for example, Science and Technology, Education, etc.) and,
second, by type of technology (for example, Best Database Project, Best .NET
Project, etc.) The rankings and evaluations continue to be compiled and charted
throughout the year, and, at the end of the year, category winners are named
and the overall winner-the leading project for that year-is determined and
presented with the enviable title of Project of the Year.
How are projects scored?
Completed projects are scored based on feedback from the buyers who contracted
the project and the coders who completed that project. Using a formula, the
overall project score is based on the rating (from 1 to 10) the Coder gave the
Buyer and the rating the Buyer gave the Coder (more information can be found
below). Factored in as well is the size of the project (dollar amount). The
overall project score is used to place the projects in the ranking charts to
indicate how that particular project compares with other completed work.
How can your project be considered in the competition?
As projects are completed and feedback is provided, the rankings given by the
buyers and coders are automatically tied to that project to compute the project
score. MyCoders automatically tabulates these scores to present the monthly
winners and the overall yearly best.
